What is the difference between the SUR and SUL hangers?

The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in design except for their skew direction. The SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right, while the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left. Select the SUL2.56/14 when your framing application requires a left-skewed connection.

Can the SUL2.56/14 be field-modified to adjust the skew angle?

No. These hangers cannot be modified in the field. However, they are designed to accommodate a joist skewed anywhere between 40 deg. and 50 deg., providing a small range of flexibility around the nominal 45 deg. angle.

Does this hanger require web stiffeners during standard installation?
