The Simpson SUR26Z SUR ZMAX Galvanized Joist Hanger for 2x6, Skewed Right by Simpson Strong-Tie is a 45 deg.-skewed joist hanger engineered to support solid sawn and engineered wood products in wood construction. This U-shaped hanger encapsulates the top flange of the joist, eliminating the need for web stiffeners in standard installation, while its ZMAX galvanized coating delivers superior corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications.

- What does "SUR" mean, and how does it differ from the SUL?
- SUR stands for skewed right. The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in design except that the SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right and the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left. Choose the model that matches the direction of your skewed joist application.
- Can the SUR26Z be field-modified to adjust the skew angle?
- No. These hangers cannot be modified in the field. However, the SUR26Z will accommodate a joist skewed anywhere between 40 deg. and 50 deg., providing a small degree of flexibility around the fixed 45 deg. design angle.
- Why does the SUR26Z feature ZMAX galvanization instead of standard galvanization?
- ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance, making the SUR26Z suitable for exterior applications and installations involving treated wood, where standard coatings may degrade more quickly due to exposure to moisture and preservative chemicals.
- Are web stiffeners required when installing the SUR26Z?
- No. Because the SUR26Z is a U-shaped hanger that encapsulates the top flange of the joist, web stiffeners are not required for standard installation, simplifying the installation process.

Freight shipping Policy:
Orders/Items too large or heavy may require special handling/Shipping and may require to be sent by truck. Someone must be present to accept truck deliveries. Standard truck delivery is to a dock facility designed to receive freight. You will be notified within 24 hours of ordering to confirm delivery. Lift gates for deliveries are available for an additional fee.
