The Simpson SUR210Z SUR ZMAX Galvanized Joist Hanger for 2x10, Skewed Right by Simpson is a 45 deg.-skewed hanger engineered to support solid sawn and engineered wood products in wood construction. Its U-shaped design encapsulates the top flange of the joist, eliminating the need for web stiffeners in standard installation, while ZMAX galvanization delivers superior corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications.

- The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in design except for their skew direction - the SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right and the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left.
- Can the SUR210Z be field-modified to fit different skew angles?
- No, these hangers cannot be modified. However, they will accommodate a joist skewed anywhere from 40 deg. to 50 deg., providing some flexibility around the nominal 45 deg. angle.
- What fasteners are required to install the SUR210Z?
- Installation requires 16d common nails in the header and 10d x 1-1/2 in. nails in the joist.
