The Simpson SUL26 SUL Galvanized Joist Hanger for 2x6, Skewed Left from Simpson Strong-Tie is a 45 deg.-skewed U-shaped hanger engineered to support solid sawn and engineered wood products in wood construction. Designed for left-skewed framing connections, this hanger encapsulates the top flange of the joist so no web stiffeners are required for standard installation, delivering a strong, reliable connection where angled framing meets headers or beams.

- What does "SUL" mean, and how is it different from the SUR?
- SUL stands for skewed left - meaning the hanger is angled 45 deg. to the left. The SUR and SUL hangers are identical except that they are skewed 45 deg. to the right (SUR) and the left (SUL), respectively. Choosing the correct version depends on the direction your joist angles away from the header or beam.
- Can the SUL26 hanger be field-modified to adjust the skew angle?
- No. These hangers cannot be modified. However, the SUL26 will accommodate a joist skewed anywhere from 40 deg. to 50 deg., providing a small range of flexibility around the standard 45 deg. angle.
- What fasteners are required to install the SUL26?
- Install with (6) 0.162 x 3-1/2-in. nails in the face and (6) 0.148 x 1-1/2-in. nails in the joist, OR (12) #9 x 1-1/2-in. Strong-Drive SD Connector screws (SD9112).
- Why does the SUL26 feature obround nail holes on the acute side?
- The obround nail holes on the acute side of the hanger are specifically designed to allow nails to be easily installed parallel to the joist. This makes fastening more practical in tight or angled framing situations where standard round holes would make nail placement difficult.

Standard truck delivery is to a dock facility designed to receive freight. You will be notified within 24 hours of ordering to confirm delivery. Lift gates for deliveries are available for an additional fee.
