The Simpson Strong-Tie HWSC6-KT is a 5-3/4 inch Head-of-Wall Slide-Clip Connector engineered to simplify the panelization of printed studs used in off-site and panelized framing systems such as FrameCAD, Arkitech, Howick, and Pinnacle. Rather than relying on slotted track - which is notoriously difficult to panelize - the HWSC is designed to replace slotted track with a typical printed track at head-of-wall conditions, streamlining the construction workflow without sacrificing structural performance.
A standout feature of this connector is its unique cone-shaped dimple that acts as a self-guiding funnel, helping the dimple in the track align precisely with the corresponding dimple in the clip. This locking alignment holds the connection securely in place while a screw is installed into each flange - eliminating the need to juggle parts during assembly. The stud is then slid into position, and the clip is fastened to the stud using shoulder screws driven through the center of the fastener slots. An optional screw can temporarily lock the deflection gap during panel transport and construction and is simply removed once installation is complete.
Manufactured in the United States from 54-mil (16-gauge) steel with a Zinc Galvanized G90 coating for corrosion resistance, the HWSC6-KT has been assembly-tested to provide optimal strength and performance. Each kit includes 50 connectors and 110 XLSH78B1414 #14 shouldered screws - everything needed for a complete installation.
