Product Description
Baileigh Hydraulic Ironworker SW-503 is a heavy-duty, multi-function ironworker from Baileigh that brings five essential metalworking operations into a single compact machine. Engineered to punch, shear, notch, and more with 50 tons of vertical hydraulic force at every station, this ironworker delivers clean, precise results in seconds - eliminating deformed edges, reducing material waste, and dramatically improving throughput in demanding shop environments.
Key Features
- This 50 ton ironworker runs on 220-volt 3-phase power.
- 50 tons of vertical pressure at each of its 5 integrated stations.
- 5 workstations each execute a different function: punching, flat bar shearing, angle shearing, bar shearing, and rectangle notching.
- Vertical hydraulic movement executes clean cuts in seconds, prevents deformed edges, and reduces waste.
- Material stops and multi-positional back-gauge simplify production runs.
- Large 2-piece tables with meter guides pull out from the machine to handle many shapes and profiles.
- Adjustable stroke control, with downward and upward stroke knobs, can limit machine movement and reduce production costs.
- Jog dial lets you align tooling for safe and easy set-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How many workstations does the SW-503 include, and what does each one do?
- The SW-503 features 5 integrated workstations. Each station executes a different function: punching, flat bar shearing, angle shearing, bar shearing, and rectangle notching - giving you five distinct metalworking capabilities in a single machine.
- What power supply is required to operate the SW-503?
- This 50 ton ironworker runs on 220-volt 3-phase power. Ensure your shop has the appropriate electrical service before installation.
- How does the vertical hydraulic movement benefit my cuts compared to pivot-style mechanisms?
- Vertical hydraulic movement executes clean cuts in seconds, prevents deformed edges, and reduces waste - delivering more precise and consistent results than machines that rely on pivot mechanisms.
- What features help with quick set-ups and production runs?
- The SW-503 includes a jog dial to align tooling for safe and easy set-ups, a material hold-down with a knurled handle for fast fine-tuning, material stops and a multi-positional back-gauge to simplify production runs, and adjustable stroke control with downward and upward stroke knobs to limit machine movement and reduce production costs.

FREIGHT SHIPMENTS
It is important to assess the product being shipped against your location and material-handling capabilities.
Please be aware that your location needs to be prepared to properly handle and sign for freight shipments. You need to have access to a dock location, a forklift or the ability to unload the product from the freight carrier's trailer.
If your location does not have a traditional loading dock or forklift to unload your LTL freight out of the trailer, a Lift gate service will be required. There will be an additional charge for the service. It varies by carrier and even by market with different carriers. It often depends on the supply and demand of lift gate equipped trucks in your area.
Some machines require Flatbed shipping. There will be an additional charge for this service. Flatbed shipping is for the transportation of cargo that cannot be loaded or unloaded from a dock, or does not fit within the dimensions of standard truck trailers. A flatbed’s design allows for cranes and forklifts to load goods from all angles.
If a shipment is too heavy or the footprint (i.e., panel saws, metalworking lathes, mill/drills) is too large to ship via small parcel carrier (USPS, UPS or FedEx), it is shipped via a freight carrier. Freight shipments are considered tail gate deliveries, meaning that the driver is only responsible for moving the shipment to the rear of the trailer and will not assist with unloading.
For non-commercial deliveries, the freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window and confirm if lift gate services are required. If lift gate service is requested, the driver is responsible for lowering the product to the ground during delivery. Freight shipments delivered to a residential location are considered curb side deliveries, meaning the driver will make the delivery in the street at the end of the customer’s driveway. Freight Carriers are not required to enter driveways to make residential deliveries due to liability and safety issues.
Although most deliveries go smoothly, sometimes there are exceptions beyond our control. Machines weighing over 2,000 pounds, bulky and oversized machines with a large footprint may not be able to be delivered via a lift gate for risk of injury or damage to the machine. There are also inaccessible remote, residential or high density urban areas that freight carriers cannot safely access. If encountered, such shipments are available for dock delivery or will be required to be picked up from the carrier’s terminal.
