The Simpson SUR2.56/14 SUR Galvanized Joist Hanger for 2-1/2 in. x 14 in. Engineered Wood, Skewed Right by Simpson Strong-Tie is a 45 deg.-skewed hanger engineered to support solid sawn and engineered wood products in wood construction applications. This U-shaped hanger encapsulates the top flange of the joist, eliminating the need for web stiffeners during standard installation and delivering a strong, reliable connection for skewed framing layouts.

- What is the difference between the SUR and SUL hanger?
- The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in construction except that the SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right and the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left. Choose SUR when your joist angles to the right relative to the header or beam.
- Can the SUR2.56/14 be field-modified to fit different skew angles?
- No, these hangers cannot be modified. However, they are designed to accommodate a joist skewed anywhere from 40 deg. to 50 deg., providing a degree of flexibility within that range without any alteration to the hanger.
- What fasteners are required to install the SUR2.56/14?
- Install with (18) 0.162 x 3-1/2 in. nails in the face and (2) 0.148 x 1-1/2 in. nails in the joist, OR (20) #9 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD Connector screws (SD9112).

Lift gates for deliveries are available for an additional fee.
