Product Features

  • Available for special order to accommodate sloped and/or skewed members

Product Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie BA616 is a top-flange joist hanger engineered for both solid sawn lumber and engineered wood product applications. Designed as part of the trusted BA hanger series, this hanger delivers medium load capacity with solid sawn lumber and elevated load capacity when paired with engineered wood products. Its one-piece construction, full-height joist flange, and positive-angle nailing (PAN) system make it a reliable, cost-effective solution for moderate to higher load conditions in residential and commercial framing projects.

Features

  • Cost-effective one-piece design compared to welded hangers
  • A full-height joist flange that captures the top chord of the joist to prevent rotation and eliminate the need for web stiffeners
  • Available for special order to accommodate sloped and/or skewed members
  • Nominal joist size: 6x16
  • Made from 12-gauge steel
  • Galvanized (G90) for corrosion resistance

How It Works

The BA616 uses a minimum nailing configuration with positive-angle nailing (PAN) to address moderate load conditions, while a maximum nailing configuration supports higher structural loads. The full-height joist flange wraps the top chord of the supported member, preventing rotation and providing a stable, secure connection without the need for additional web stiffeners.
