Product Description
The Simpson MCR08712 7/8 in. x 15 in. Rebar Cutter (Model No. MCR08712) is a carbide-tipped cutting bit engineered by Simpson Strong-Tie to resolve one of the most common challenges in concrete drilling: when hole placement conflicts with rebar or wire mesh, this bit enables the rebar to be removed so the hole can be drilled to the proper depth. Manufactured to demanding tolerances, it is designed to maximize production on the jobsite. Note that a shank adaptor designed for the rotohammer in use is required and sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this rebar cutter include a shank adaptor?
- No. A shank adaptor designed for the rotohammer in use is required and is sold separately. Be sure to select the correct shank for your specific rotohammer model.
- Will one shank adaptor work with multiple sizes of rebar cutters?
- Yes. Shanks work with all sizes of rebar cutters in the Simpson Strong-Tie lineup, making it convenient to use a single shank across different cutter diameters.
- What is the maximum drilling depth this rebar cutter can achieve?
- The MCR08712 has a drilling depth of 12 in., with an overall length of approximately 15 in.
- When should a rebar cutter be used instead of a standard drill bit?
- When hole placement conflicts with rebar or wire mesh, these bits enable the rebar to be removed so the hole can be drilled to the proper depth - a situation where a standard drill bit would not be appropriate.
