The Simpson HSUL5.12/11 HSUL Galvanized Joist Hanger for 5 in. x 11-7/8 in. Engineered Wood, Skewed Left by Simpson Strong-Tie is a 45 deg.-skewed heavy U-shaped hanger engineered to support large joist members or double I-joists in wood construction. By fully encapsulating the top flange of the joist, this hanger eliminates the need for web stiffeners in standard installation, simplifying the building process while delivering reliable structural support.

- What is the difference between the HSUL and HSUR hanger?
- The HSUL and HSUR hangers are identical in construction except for their skew direction. The HSUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left, while the HSUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right. Both are designed to support large joist members or double I-joists in wood construction.
- Does the HSUL5.12/11 require web stiffeners during installation?
- No. Because the hanger fully encapsulates the top flange of the joist, no web stiffeners are required for standard installation.
- Can the HSUL5.12/11 be field-modified to fit a different skew angle?
