- Installation requires either #9 x 2-1/2" Strong-Drive SD Connector screws or 0.162" x 3-1/2" nails. All round and obround nail holes must be filled with the specified fasteners to achieve table loads. Where noted, triangle holes in the joist flange may be filled for additional uplift capacity.
- Does the joist need to be bevel cut to match the 45-degree skew angle?
- No. The joist end may be either square cut or bevel cut - both are acceptable for standard installation with the HSULC46.
- Can the HSULC46 hanger be field-modified to adjust the skew angle?
- No. These hangers cannot be modified. However, they are designed to accommodate a joist skewed anywhere from 40 degrees to 50 degrees, providing a practical range of angular flexibility without any alteration to the hanger.
- What is the difference between the HSULC and HSURC hangers?
- The HSULC and HSURC are identical hangers except for their skew direction. The HSULC is skewed 45 degrees to the left, while the HSURC is skewed 45 degrees to the right. Both feature concealed header flanges and support 2x and 4x members in wood construction.
