Product Description

The Simpson Heli-Tie 3/8 in. x 10 in. Helical Wall Tie is a Type 304 stainless steel helical anchor engineered to connect building facades to structural backup materials or stabilize existing brick walls. The helical design allows the tie to be driven quickly and easily into a predrilled pilot hole - or embedded directly into mortar joints during new construction - creating a reliable mechanical connection between a masonry facade and its backup material. As the tie is driven, its fins undercut the surrounding masonry to deliver expansion-free anchorage that resists both tension and compression loads. Compatible with concrete, masonry, wood stud, and steel stud backup structures, this wall tie is a proven solution for both new construction and retrofit or repair applications.

Key Features

  • Hammer-mode rotohammer installation - the tie drives faster than competitive products, reducing labor time on the job site
  • Countersinks up to 1/2 in. below the masonry surface - the tie location can be patched after installation, preserving the appearance of the building with an inconspicuous repair
  • Larger core diameter - provides higher torsional capacity, resulting in less deflection due to uncoiling under load for a more dependable long-term connection
  • Fractionally sized anchor requiring a 7/32 in. or 1/4 in. drill bit - standard fractional drill bits are all that is needed, eliminating the hassle and cost of sourcing metric tooling
  • Type 304 stainless steel construction - delivers corrosion resistance suited to exterior masonry and facade anchoring environments where long-term durability is critical
  • Performs in concrete, masonry, wood studs, and steel studs - a single tie solution that covers a wide range of backup materials and structural configurations

Why This Product

  • Engineered for both new construction and repair work - the Heli-Tie installs into predrilled pilot holes for retrofit anchoring or embeds directly into mortar joints during new masonry construction, making it a genuinely versatile wall tie for multiple project types
  • Aesthetically clean results without visible hardware - because the tie countersinks up to 1/2 in. below the surface and the hole can be patched, masonry repair and facade anchoring projects maintain a finished appearance after installation
  • Expansion-free anchorage through mechanical undercutting - the helical fins undercut the masonry as the tie is driven, creating a secure connection that resists both tension and compression without relying on expansion force that can stress surrounding masonry
  • Straightforward installation with no specialty metric tooling - the fractionally sized anchor works with common 7/32 in. or 1/4 in. drill bits, and a rotohammer in hammer mode paired with the HELITOOL37A drives and countersinks the tie efficiently

Frequently Asked Questions

What tool is required to install the Heli-Tie HELI371000A?
The Heli-Tie wall tie is installed using the proprietary HELITOOL37A Heli-Tie fastener installation tool paired with an SDS-plus shank rotohammer. The rotohammer is used in hammer mode to drive and countersink the tie into the predrilled pilot hole.
What drill bit size is needed to install this helical wall tie?
A 7/32 in. or 1/4 in. drill bit is required to create the pilot hole for the HELI371000A. Because the anchor is fractionally sized, no metric drill bits are needed.
How far below the surface is the Heli-Tie countersunk after installation?
After installation, the Heli-Tie is countersunk up to 1/2 in. below the masonry surface. This allows the tie location to be patched, providing an inconspicuous repair that preserves the original appearance of the building.
What backup materials is the HELI371000A compatible with?
The Heli-Tie wall tie performs in concrete and masonry as well as wood and steel studs, making it suitable for a wide range of façade anchoring and wall stabilization applications in both new construction and retrofit projects.
