The Simpson Strong-Tie SCB45.5-KT is a time-saving, high-performance slide-clip connector engineered specifically for bypass framing applications. Designed to simplify design and detailing for engineers and specifiers, this connector reduces field labor and material costs without sacrificing structural performance. The SCB connector has been tested with multiple anchorage methods - including powder-actuated pins, screws, welds, and Simpson Strong-Tie Titen Turbo concrete screws - and allowable anchorage loads are provided for each, eliminating the need to independently design connector anchorage. For designs that have typically required two parts to accommodate large stand-offs, the SCB can take their place, reducing field labor and simplifying installation. The connector is manufactured in different lengths to accommodate a variety of stand-off conditions and steel stud sizes. This kit includes 25 connectors and 83 XLSH34B1414 #14 shouldered screws, offering everything needed for a complete installation right out of the box.
