The Simpson Strong-Tie DGT2.56/18 DGT Top-Flange Fire Wall Hanger is engineered for multifamily, multilevel Type III residential construction where fire-rated framing connections are required. This patent-pending hanger supports 2-1/2 in. x 18 in. engineered wood joists and delivers a two-hour fire-resistant rating tested to ASTM E814 - making it suitable for use on both sides of a fire wall. As the first fire wall hanger designed for installation with a power nailer, the DGT saves significant time on the job site before drywall goes up. Its innovative top-flange design leaves room for two layers of 5/8 in. gypsum board to be slipped into place after framing is complete, keeping the construction sequence smooth and on schedule. Made in the United States from 12-gauge steel with a G90 galvanized finish, the DGT is load tested, code listed, and backed by expert technical support.
