The Simpson Strong-Tie DGHT Top-Flange Fire Wall Hanger is a patent-pending, load-tested hanger engineered for 3-1/2 in. x 14 in. engineered wood joists. Designed for multifamily, multilevel Type III residential construction, this innovative hanger carries a two-hour fire rating and is the first fire wall hanger built to install with a power nailer - saving critical time before drywall is hung and helping keep construction projects on schedule. Its top-flange design accommodates two layers of 5/8 in. gypsum board slipped into place after framing is complete, and it has been tested according to ASTM E814 for fire-rated use on both sides of the wall.
