Product Description
Baileigh Reciprocating Hammer PH-19VS is a variable-speed power hammer from Baileigh engineered for shops that demand precise speed control across a wide range of metalworking tasks. By integrating an inverter drive into the proven PH-19 platform, this machine delivers a full 0-1700 beats per minute speed range, giving operators the ability to dial in exactly the right tempo for delicate or complex work - without sacrificing the performance that production environments require. It is especially well suited to small automotive and airplane shops with limited space or budgets, as well as schools and educational institutions looking for a capable, versatile hammer at an accessible price point.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the full speed range of the PH-19VS, and why does variable speed matter?
- The PH-19VS operates from 0-1700 beats per minute, giving operators complete control over the striking rate. Lower speeds are essential for delicate shaping on thin aluminum or intricate contours, while higher speeds allow for efficient planishing on larger surface areas. The inverter drive makes this adjustment smooth and continuous rather than stepped.
- What materials and thicknesses can the PH-19VS handle?
- This hammer is rated for mild steel up to 16 gauge and aluminum up to 12 gauge. The heavier aluminum capacity reflects the machine's suitability for aerospace and automotive panel work, where aluminum is a primary material.
- How much throat depth does the PH-19VS provide?
- The throat depth is 19 inches, which determines how far from the edge of a workpiece you can reach. This generous clearance allows fabricators to work on larger panels and sheet metal pieces without being restricted to narrow edges.
- Is this machine a good fit for a school or small shop environment?
- Yes. The PH-19VS is specifically recommended for small automotive and airplane shops with limited space or budgets, as well as schools and educational institutions. Its compact footprint conserves floor space, and the variable-speed inverter drive makes it approachable for students learning proper hammer technique at controlled, lower speeds.

FREIGHT SHIPMENTS
It is important to assess the product being shipped against your location and material-handling capabilities.
Please be aware that your location needs to be prepared to properly handle and sign for freight shipments. You need to have access to a dock location, a forklift or the ability to unload the product from the freight carrier's trailer.
If your location does not have a traditional loading dock or forklift to unload your LTL freight out of the trailer, a Lift gate service will be required. There will be an additional charge for the service. It varies by carrier and even by market with different carriers. It often depends on the supply and demand of lift gate equipped trucks in your area.
Some machines require Flatbed shipping. There will be an additional charge for this service. Flatbed shipping is for the transportation of cargo that cannot be loaded or unloaded from a dock, or does not fit within the dimensions of standard truck trailers. A flatbed’s design allows for cranes and forklifts to load goods from all angles.
If a shipment is too heavy or the footprint (i.e., panel saws, metalworking lathes, mill/drills) is too large to ship via small parcel carrier (USPS, UPS or FedEx), it is shipped via a freight carrier. Freight shipments are considered tail gate deliveries, meaning that the driver is only responsible for moving the shipment to the rear of the trailer and will not assist with unloading.
For non-commercial deliveries, the freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window and confirm if lift gate services are required. If lift gate service is requested, the driver is responsible for lowering the product to the ground during delivery. Freight shipments delivered to a residential location are considered curb side deliveries, meaning the driver will make the delivery in the street at the end of the customer’s driveway. Freight Carriers are not required to enter driveways to make residential deliveries due to liability and safety issues.
Although most deliveries go smoothly, sometimes there are exceptions beyond our control. Machines weighing over 2,000 pounds, bulky and oversized machines with a large footprint may not be able to be delivered via a lift gate for risk of injury or damage to the machine. There are also inaccessible remote, residential or high density urban areas that freight carriers cannot safely access. If encountered, such shipments are available for dock delivery or will be required to be picked up from the carrier’s terminal.
