Product Description

The Baileigh BS-250M Mitering Band Saw is a heavy-duty gear-driven metal cutting band saw engineered for shops that demand precision mitering capability alongside reliable, production-ready performance. Capable of cutting up to 8.66" round metal stock at 90 deg. and mitering the swivel head up to 60 deg., this machine combines variable blade speed, dual descent modes, and a patented blade tension system to deliver consistent, accurate cuts while extending blade life and reducing operating costs.

Key Features

  • Cuts up to 8.66" round metal stock at 90 deg., and accepts a standard 1" blade
  • Swivel head miters up to 60 deg., allowing fast angle adjustments without repositioning the vise
  • Variable speed from 66-280 fpm for the blade and the material, increasing the blade life and decreasing costs
  • An inverter drives the 2 hp motor through a gearbox, so there are no pulleys to adjust or belts to break
  • 2 ways to operate this metal band saw: Manual descent and Hydraulic descent
  • Patented blade tension device - a liquid-filled gauge - makes it easy to check the tension and correct it
  • When saw bow reaches bottom limit, Micro Switch is actuated and shuts off the saw and pump motors automatically
  • Powerful coolant pump washes away metal chips, cools the blade teeth, and lubricates the blade, helping it last longer

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum round stock this band saw can cut at 90 deg.?
The BS-250M cuts up to 8.66" round metal stock at 90 deg. and accepts a standard 1" blade, making it well suited for a wide range of solid and tubular metal profiles.
How does the variable speed feature benefit blade life and cutting performance?
The variable speed ranges from 66-280 fpm for the blade and the material. By matching the blade speed precisely to the type and size of material being cut, the operator can extend blade life and decrease the costs associated with frequent blade replacement.
What are the two ways to operate the BS-250M, and when would I use each?
There are 2 ways to operate this metal band saw: Manual descent and Hydraulic descent. Manual descent is ideal for single or occasional cuts where the operator controls the feed by hand, while Hydraulic descent is suited to production runs - the operator sets the feed pressure and the saw works through the material automatically, with the Micro Switch shutting off the saw and pump motors when the bow reaches the bottom limit.
How do I know when the blade tension is set correctly?
The BS-250M features a patented blade tension device - a liquid-filled gauge - that makes it easy to check the tension and correct it at a glance, eliminating guesswork and helping ensure consistent cut quality and maximum blade life.

FREIGHT SHIPMENTS

It is important to assess the product being shipped against your location and  material-handling capabilities.

Please be aware that your location needs to be prepared to properly handle and sign for freight shipments. You need to have access to a dock location, a forklift or the ability to unload the product from the freight carrier's trailer.

If your location does not have a traditional loading dock or forklift to unload your LTL freight out of the trailer, a Lift gate service will be required. There will be an additional charge for the service. It varies by carrier and even by market with different carriers. It often depends on the supply and demand of lift gate equipped trucks in your area.

Some machines require Flatbed shipping. There will be an additional charge for this service. Flatbed shipping is for the transportation of cargo that cannot be loaded or unloaded from a dock, or does not fit within the dimensions of standard truck trailers. A flatbed’s design allows for cranes and forklifts to load goods from all angles.

If a shipment is too heavy or the footprint (i.e., panel saws, metalworking lathes, mill/drills) is too large to ship via small parcel carrier (USPS, UPS or FedEx), it is shipped via a freight carrier. Freight shipments are considered tail gate deliveries, meaning that the driver is only responsible for moving the shipment to the rear of the trailer and will not assist with unloading.

For non-commercial deliveries, the freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window and confirm if lift gate services are required. If lift gate service is requested, the driver is responsible for lowering the product to the ground during delivery. Freight shipments delivered to a residential location are considered curb side deliveries, meaning the driver will make the delivery in the street at the end of the customer’s driveway. Freight Carriers are not required to enter driveways to make residential deliveries due to liability and safety issues.

Although most deliveries go smoothly, sometimes there are exceptions beyond  our control. Machines weighing over 2,000 pounds, bulky and oversized machines with a large footprint may not be able to be delivered via a lift gate for risk of injury or damage to the machine. There are also inaccessible remote, residential or high density urban areas that freight carriers cannot safely access. If encountered, such shipments are available for dock delivery or will be required to be picked up from the carrier’s terminal.
