What is the difference between the SUR and SUL hangers?

The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in design except that the SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right and the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left. Choose SUR when your joist frames into the header from the right side at a skewed angle.

What range of skew angles will the SUR1.81/9 accommodate?

While this hanger is designed at a fixed 45 deg. skew and cannot be modified, it will accommodate joists skewed between 40 deg. and 50 deg., providing a small degree of flexibility for field conditions.

Are web stiffeners required when installing the SUR1.81/9?
