Simpson SUL26SS SUL Stainless-Steel Joist Hanger for 2x6, Skewed Left is a 45 deg.-skewed hanger from Simpson Strong-Tie engineered to support solid sawn and engineered wood products in wood construction. This U-shaped hanger encapsulates the top flange of the joist, eliminating the need for web stiffeners during standard installation, while its stainless steel construction delivers superior corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications.

- What fasteners are required to install the SUL26SS joist hanger?
- Install with (6) 0.162 x 3-1/2-in. stainless-steel nails in the face and (6) 0.148 x 1-1/2-in. stainless-steel nails in the joist, OR (12) #9 x 1-1/2-in. Strong-Drive SD Connector SS screws (SD9112).
- Can the SUL26SS be field-modified to adjust the skew angle?
- No. These hangers cannot be modified. However, they will accommodate a joist skewed anywhere from 40 deg. to 50 deg., providing a degree of flexibility within that range without requiring any alterations to the hanger.
- What is the difference between the SUR and SUL hangers?
- The SUR and SUL hangers are identical in design except that the SUR is skewed 45 deg. to the right and the SUL is skewed 45 deg. to the left. Choose the appropriate model based on the direction of your joist connection.
- Why is stainless steel recommended for this hanger, and does it require web stiffeners?
- Stainless steel offers extra corrosion resistance, making this hanger well-suited for exterior environments and applications involving pressure-treated or chemically treated wood. No web stiffeners are required for standard installation because the U-shaped hanger encapsulates the top flange of the joist.

Lift gates for deliveries are available for an additional fee.
